Glen Birnbaum

Glen heads the Consulting and Business Valuation Department at the Firm and holds three business valuation appellations: Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), and Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) of the American Society of Appraisers. He has 20 years of experience in valuing closely held businesses and also holds the Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA) credential.

Glen provides accounting and tax advisory services for a range of entities including agriculture, manufacturing, and contracting companies. In particular, he enjoys tax planning and working with clients on succession planning and new initiatives.

He is regularly featured in an agriculture podcast called “Moving Iron Tax Moves,” where he gives tax tips, and has made two appearances on the podcast “Simply Tax,” elaborating on the difficulties surrounding Section 199A. He has also been quoted in articles in Bloomberg TaxTax Notes, and the Wall Street Journal.

Glen graduated summa cum laude from Bradley University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He earned his CPA designation in 1999 before joining Heinold Banwart. In 2009, Glen was recognized as one of InterBusiness Issues’ 40 Leaders Under Forty.

A resident of Peoria with his wife, Amy, he enjoys being involved in the many aspects of his family’s farming operation in Logan County.
