Susan provides specialized tax research, planning and advice to Heinold-Banwart clients, with particular expertise in corporate transactions, partnerships, employee benefits, multi-state taxation and tax exempt organizations. She also provides tax, accounting and advisory services to small business clients in construction, retail/wholesale, agriculture, manufacturing, nonprofit and other industries. As a member of our tax management team, she is responsible for establishing tax policy, monitoring changes in tax laws, educating staff and in quality control review of tax returns.

Susan received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Bradley University. Before joining Heinold-Banwart as tax manager in 2001, she worked for 10 years at KPMG Peat Marwick/Clifton Gunderson, LLC in Peoria, specializing in taxation. Susan also worked as a controller for a regional distribution company before joining Heinold-Banwart.

Susan lives with her husband, John, in Chillicothe and they have one son. She has served on the boards of Central Illinois Estate Planning Council and Women in Management of Central Illinois. Susan is also a member of the AICPA, the Illinois CPA Society and Women in Leadership of Central Illinois. She enjoys reading, gardening, boating, swimming and other activities with her family.
