Alan serves clients in the manufacturing, professional services, medical, retail and tax-exempt industries. He is part of the Firm's tax department and is involved in the quality control review of tax returns and education of staff on tax issues. He provides specialized tax research, planning and advice to HB clients, with particular expertise in taxation of executive compensation including stock options; sales and use taxes; state, local and multi-state taxation; and clergy taxation. Alan has a bachelor's degree in music from Wabash College; a bachelor's degree in accounting from Bradley University; and a master's degree in taxation from the University of Illinois. Alan started at HB in 1997 as a tax manager.

He and his wife, Carole, and three children live in Peoria. He currently serves as the Christian Center's treasurer and is a member of Rotary and the Estate Planning Council.
